【English Translation】 Collected Teachings of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo MP18: The Method of Expelling Demons and the Protective Wheel 5-4-1a The Method of Expelling Demons and the Protective Wheel To contemplate the expulsion of demons and the protective wheel: Instantly, transform yourself into the wrathful Yamaraja, blue-black in color, with one face and two arms. His three eyes burn like the fire at the end of time, and with hateful eyes, he gazes, burning the army of demons. His right hand raises a vajra kila, and his left hand makes a threatening mudra. He is adorned with ornaments of glory and the charnel ground, and sits in a posture of ease upon a lotus, sun, and corpse seat. In the midst of a mountain of wisdom fire, a heap of red-black flames blazing and turbulent, he plays with the nine moods of dance, manifesting as the master of a vast cloud of wrathful deities. For the demon-destroying offering and sprinkling: रྃ་ཡྃ་ཁྃཿ (Rang, Yang, Kham). From emptiness, from the syllable traṃ arises a precious vessel. From the syllable khaṃ arises a desirable offering of ransom, the nature of nectar, transformed into a great treasure that fulfills all desires. ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ། ན་མཿསརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་ཨ་བ་ལོ་ཀི་ (Om Ah Hum. Namah Sarva Tathagata Avalokite) etc. Bless it by reciting three times, and make the gesture of an iron hook. ཧཱུྃ་སརྦ་བིགྣཾ་ཨཱ་ཀརྵ་ཡ་ཛ (Hum Sarva Vignam Akarshaya Ja)! ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བིགྣཾ་ན་མཿསརྦ་ (Om Sarva Vignam Namah Sarva) etc., dedicate with the treasury of space. Then, give the command: 5-4-1b ཧཱུྃ། I am the glorious Yamaraja, the powerful lord of all wrathful deities. If the mere hearing of my name frightens all the wrathful hosts, what need is there to mention the hosts of demons? Listen, you hosts of demons and misleaders! Take this ransom offering! Do not stay here, move elsewhere! If you dare to disobey my command, with the blazing vajra kila etc., the weapons in my hands, the flames, and the wrathful chains, I will surely destroy you into dust! Therefore, each of you move to your own place! ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་མཉྫུ་ཤྲཱི་ཡ་མཱནྟ་ཀ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ (Om Ah Hum Manjushri Yamantaka Hum Phet)! Recite the four Hum mantras, and visualize that from your heart, a rain of wrathful deities, weapons, and flames descends like particles of dust, densely and without interruption, destroying all obstacles into tiny fragments. Then, contemplate the protective wheel: The radiating flames and weapons gather back, forming a tent, and the wrathful deities gather within it, transforming into the nature of the ten wrathful deities, performing the work of protection. Visualize: ཧཱུྃ། The nature of the crown-transforming wheel king, upon the indestructible vajra protective wheel, is completely filled with the ten demon-subduing wrathful deities. The tent of weapons and flames pervades all directions, and there is no place for obstacles and demons to pass through. The spontaneously accomplished wisdom that cannot be destroyed, the self-appearing, ever-stable great vajra palace, arises in the uncreated space of the dharmadhatu. བྷྲཱུྃ་བཛྲ་ཛྙཱ་ན་རཀྵ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཨཱཿ (Bhrum Vajra Jnana Raksha Hum Hum Ah)! Then, the mudra and the commitment: 5-4-2a Make the mudra of the single-pointed vajra at your heart,
