Granting Deathless Life A brief method of soul retrieval, bestowing deathless life. Homage to the Three Roots and the deities of longevity! If one wishes to perform a brief soul retrieval, fill a precious vessel with excellent wine, and adorn it with ransom objects, victory banners, and so on. In a pool of water, fashion the forms of male and female reproductive organs from the stomach of a lamb, and write the name of the one being practiced for on a straw or paper with gold, saffron, or vermilion. Then, place a radiant soul stone, or white barley grains equal to the person's age, or seven types of grain, wrapped in red silk and placed in paper, inside the lamb's belly. Alternatively, attach a name tag to the back of the lamb. Arrange the longevity vase and arrow banner. Also, prepare the yidam's torma, fulfillment offerings, and other items as available, and correct the ritual text. At the end of the practice, visualize oneself as the deity, swiftly gathering all the stolen life force, vitality, and decline of the one being practiced for, and dissolving them into the support object and the one being practiced for. After the mantra, recite: Om Dzab Dzab Dzub Dzub Bhita Slung Slung Nri Khug Dza Dza. 【English Translation】 With a mind of benefiting others, may debts be repaid, disputes be settled, harm and cruelty be pacified, and all stolen life force and longevity be restored immediately, bringing peace, auspiciousness, and happiness. After reciting the appropriate number of times, visualize white light radiating from your heart, possessing the nature of nectar. When the light touches the obstructing spirits, their minds become peaceful and generate Bodhicitta. The light returns, and all lost life force merges into oneself in the form of light, bindus, and syllables, as the support and the supported, thereby restoring life force. Visualize yourself radiant and gaining stable life essence. Wave the arrow banner and joyfully perform the soul-retrieval ceremony. Note: During the soul retrieval, recite the above mantras. Recite 'Namo, the blessings of the Three Jewels, the Three Roots, the true words of the sages, vidyadharas, and deities, and the infallible power of dependent origination, may good and bad dependent origination appear clearly.' Simultaneously recite 'Ye Dhar' while circling the effigy. If the effigy faces the deity, it indicates retrieval. If it doesn't succeed once, try up to three times. Similarly, if a more detailed ritual is needed, observe which end of the scale is higher, which black or white chess piece wins, or which black or white pebble reaches the water first, all according to other rituals. Then, place the ransom effigy, bless it with four names and mantras, and recite verses such as 'Take away.' Finally, recite 'Offering at this place,' etc., and send away the effigy with 'Gaccha,' while discarding the ransom effigy. Hand the effigy to the patron, advise them to wear it regularly, and wish them auspiciousness and prosperity. In this way, lost life force will be restored, and one will attain the state of longevity and vidyadhara. This is an oral instruction.
