【English Translation】 The Method of Summoning the Soul The ritual for summoning the soul involves one of three people who are close to or have a good relationship with the patient, holding the left side of the patient's soiled clothing. The right hand holds an arrow adorned with five-colored threads and a mirror, waving it in all directions while calling out the patient's name, saying, 'Come here!' Yogis, with their meditative concentration, recite: Hūṃ Jaḥ! (藏文：ཧཱུྃ་ཛཿ，梵文天城體：हुं जः，梵文羅馬擬音：hūṃ jaḥ，漢語字面意思：吽 扎！) From the heart of my deity, emanate swift rays of light, illuminating above and below, in all directions, compelling all wandering souls to return involuntarily, merging into the body and support being practiced. 'O benefactor, do not go elsewhere, come here! Why go to the realm of Yama (閻羅王)? Why walk the dark path? Why cross the endless river of death? Yama's people are terrifying, Yama's place is frightening, Yama's life is disgusting. Do not go there, come here! Your relatives are by your side, friends and loved ones are here, food, clothing, shelter... support, enjoyment... In this place full of happiness and joy, owner of the soul, come to the soiled clothes, come to the mirror, colored threads, and the direction of the waving arrow.' People who recognize you are calling you, listen to the words of the yogis, listen to the sound of music, come here now! Shoot the arrow towards the support of the soul, at the boundary between existence and non-existence, the soul has wandered on the path of a thousand kalpas. This is truly pitiful and sad! Why leave the human world and abandon your wife and children? Return to your own home! Please root and lineage gurus, yidam deities, dakas and dakinis, powerful ones, dharma protectors and mighty ones, offer nectar and golden drinks. Today, please summon the soul, do not let the soul rise to the sky, do not let the soul fall to the ground, do not let the soul scatter in all directions, let the light of the vessel and essence world shine. Summon the pure essence together with the soul, let the soul merge into the support, making it radiant and brilliant. Possess the unchanging vajra life, the unfailing spring of youth, the undying wealth, auspiciousness, happiness, and perfect abundance. Wish-fulfilling jewel, wish-fulfilling tree, in this mandala, as you wish, all prayers will be fulfilled, may there be auspiciousness!' After the recitation, the benefactors can live to be a hundred years old. The life force wanders in the boundary between existence and non-existence. The life force travels on the path of a thousand kalpas. This heart craves flesh and blood! What descendants do you have in the human realm? Do not let the life force be stolen by the eastern demons and eastern Tsen deities! Do not let the life force be stolen by the southern demons and southern Tsen deities! Do not let the life force be stolen by the western demons and western Tsen deities!
